So, turns out i'm not bar waitress. I gave it a shot and i really hated it. I liked the people I was working with and the manager was nice enough, but the atmosphere was all wrong. So it's been an interesting few days. I got a job, had to move hostels, quit my job, had no way of getting paid from the afformentioned job...yesh, as it turns out, i need a kiwi bank account and a tax number. The account was easy enough to get, but it can take up to 10 days for a tax number to be issued. so it's going to be a while until i see that money.
Anyway, it was nice to spend a few more days with Brettona dn Aleah, although it was interesting, we were "together" again, but it still felt like we were travelling apart. We went to a jazz show in the park a few days ago and we met up with someone from our hostel. I convinced aleah to dance with me during a blues set, which was fab. Ollii (of course) was in town, so we met up with him at the park. I got talking to the drummer of one of the bands who invited the group of us out for drinks later. So us girls and Olli went and had philosophical discussions with Jazz musicians over beers. It was really cool. It had been a fun couple of days with the girls and this was our last night together. I'm glad i met up with them again.
It hit over the last couple of days that i'm really travelling on my own now. Bretton and Aleah continued south and i've sort of stagnated my journey here for a while. I had a rough couple of days where i just wanted to go home and let my parents raise me for a while longer, but i'm in a better place now. There has been a jazz festival in town for the last week or so i've been able to enjoy both the evening bar shows as well as the street performances. I've had few lazy days, lounging in parks and Cafes reading, writing, listening to jazz music and feeling generally bohemian.
So I think I'm going to go back to Wellington. Nelson is cool and everything, but I wish I would have spent more time in Wellington. And I meant, lets face it, I can do whatever I want right now :) I think i mugh try to get onto a day tour of Abel Tasman National park. It seems like it would be a nice thing to do, and I've spent a few days just hanging around town, so it's about time i got out an did something,
I'd write more, but quite honestly, i haven't got that much to say (and my internet is about to time out)
Love you all
Sydney :)
